BMA resident doctors are striking from 7am today 7th April to 7am 13th April
During the last resident doctor strike back in December 2025, NHS managed to keep almost 94.7% of planned routine care/appointments going. During the strikes, there may be less doctors working. They will need to prioritise their care for patients who need life saving help and care. Less urgent cases may have to wait longer during the strikes to be seen. Please choose the appropriate service whilst this is going on to help make sure that the correct care is given to each patient who needs it. GP practices remain open during the resident doctors strikes. Any resident doctors in the GP may strike but this will not affect the running of the surgery.
During the strikes, please keep an eye out for any vulnerable neighbours and family members, making sure they are okay and getting the help they need. If you need any advice, guidance or help from 7th to 13th April, please do not hesitate to contact 111 to get help and triaged to the best possible help. If your appointment at the hospital needs to be changed, you will be contacted regarding this, only if it is completely necessary (unable to reschedule to same time with different doctor)
