My Hospital Journey

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust developed a webpage, dedicated to providing information to patients and users of the hospital regarding:

  • The reasons behind long waiting lists in different departments across the hospital
  • How they are aiming to reduce waiting lists
  • How the hospital aim to keep you safe each time you visit for appointments
  • When you will be communicated by the department and the ways in which you will be contacted
  • How to prepare for surgery, ensuring you are fit and well enough to proceed when the appointment has been issued, avoiding any delays.

To access this information, please click on the link below, taking you directly to the webpage.

My Planned Care

As well as this, My Planned Care on the NHS website details each hospital department and the average wait time. There are two average wait times shown on the website. The first one is the time it takes from the initial referral by your GP to your first hospital appointment. The second is the wait time for treatment for each department. The website does specify that some people may wait less than the average time and some may wait longer than the average time. Also, patients are being screened on clinical urgency, seeing which patient has to be seen sooner depending on their condition.

Please click on the link below to check the current wait times of the department you have been referred to.
